Lord, I’ve left sin country, so how can I still live in my old house there? In baptism, I went under water and left sin country; when I came up, I entered grace country. A light – your light- filled my world so I could see where I am going, by the power of the Holy Spirit.
My old life was nailed to the cross with Christ- a decisive end to a sin-miserable life. I am no longer at sins beckon call! Sin speaks a dead language to me but God, you speak my mother tongue!
Help me hear and hang on to your every word. Don’t let me give sin a vote in the way I conduct my life… don’t let me even run little errands connected to that old way of living! I throw myself whole heartedly into your way of doing things, so I may live in the freedom of God.
Hedge me in and remind me when tempted, when I offer myself to sin, its my last free act! Equip me with all I need to offer myself to your ways and freedom will be mine – it’ll never quit.
May I delight in listening to you God, living a whole, healed, put together life, with even more life on the way!
In Jesus Name I pray. Amen.
