Pray without ceasing

There are times when our prayers seem pointless, unheard and unanswered. And in these times, we can choose to give up, get frustrated and sometimes, take our own way. But in doing so, we can miss out on all that God has planned for us. We must remember, that there are reasons for His silence.. Perhaps the timing is not right, perhaps we, ourselves, are not right, and possibly, it is not right for our lives, period. And if we are committed to living out God’s purpose, we must persist in prayer and ultimately, be content in the outcome. We must trust that He will deliver, in his way and in his time. In times like this, I pray…….

Dear Lord,

Teach me to pray without ceasing, to pray about everything; not just in times of doubt, trouble or heartache. Teach me, to lay every pressing issue at your feet and leave nothing unsaid, upon my heart.  I trust them in your hands.

In you I find, rest and a solid foundation. In you, I will not be shaken, not even by what appears to be, unanswered prayers. Help me to understand that you will answer them, in your time and in your way. I confess the times I have placed demands on you and expectations of how I want prayers answered. For I know, your will is perfect and just. In everything and above my human desires, I give you praise.

Open my eyes, my heart and my ears to your perspective. Make known your will in my circumstance.  For I know you love me, unconditionally and through it all, you will never forsake me.

In Jesus’ name, I pray.

For a long time I felt unnoticed and longed for community- to find “my people.” You are it! Please know your presence here means something to me, so don’t be a stranger. I read every comment both on the blog and on social media and do my absolute best to respond to every one!
